orginial photo

I went to a lumber store and got some scrap pieces of cedar. I looked at our family tree photos and found this one of my Mom (as a young woman back in the 20's) I played with the photo in photo shop and got an impression of her face and neck. I painted her on the piece of 12"x45 cedar" board -thinking of garden parties and summer in her parents back yard and the fact that she and her sisters were very fashionable this is what happened "Hilda at a Garden Party." Now I want to do one of my Dad as a young man . He was always dressed very dapperly. I think that was the thing in the 20's and 30's :) click on photos and see the painting and its progression and orginial photo I love the simplicity of it and how the cedar gave texture

hidden faces in acrylics

thinking about creativity in my life--It is how I express myself. Life is a major part of my inspiration. Creativity gives me a sense of well being. It helps me solve problems and make decisions and choices. It gives me energy, self knowledge. It gives me discovery ,fullfillment and balance and confidence in myself . It has given me a connection with other creative people. When I create I am honoring my source of creative ideas.-this is how I think of my creativity and how heavily it engages my life .
